Jonas Bendiksen is a Norwegian photographer. He began his career at age 19 as an intern at the London office of Magnum Photos, and is now a full member of Magnum Photos. Bendiksen’s photographs have been published in National Geographic, GEO, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, and The Sunday Times, among others. Bendiksen presented seven years of work in the former Soviet Union in his 2006 book *Satellites*, and two years later his second book, *The Places We Live*, was published. In it, he documents people’s lives in slums around the world: Kibera in Nairobi, Dharavi in Mumbai, Los Barrios in Caracas, and Kampung Miskin in Jakarta. The project combined photography, film screenings, and sound installations to create three-dimensional works. In 2018, Bendiksen published the book *Det Siste Testament*, in which he follows seven men who claim to be the Messiah. This was also adapted into a TV series broadcast on NRK.
