Johannes Brus (b. 1942) is a German artist. He lives and works in Essen. From 1964 to 1971, he studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf. From 1986 to 2007, he was a professor at the Braunschweig University of Art.

Brus works primarily as a sculptor and photographer. He experiments with different techniques, using them to break with the conventions of their respective genres. Many of his works are characterized by a unique sense of humor. Brus explores aspects of cultural memory and the functions of images.
